Mark Bath is a Toronto-based artist from Newfoundland. Mark studied Dramatic Lit and Creative Writing at Memorial University and Illustration and Printmaking at OCADU. His recent work, “Someone Else’s Dream,” combines dance and animation. His CB Nuit project is an adaptation of that work.
Someone Else’s Dream
Someone Else’s Dream employs an animation technique called rotoscoping, tracing film footage frame by frame to produce realistic movement. Combining this time-consuming and meditative approach with the instantaneousness and joyful abandon of dance, when set in motion, thousands of still self-portraits become dozens of dancing doppelgangers of the artist.
