Anastasia Tiller: Strawberry Heart Workshop
(Accessible to francophone participants)
A fun and easy introduction to rug hooking!
To express love and care for the land and garden we will be creating a 3D heart shaped object. Materials such as hoops, hooks, yarn and templates will be provided. In this relaxed playful environment we will learn a very basic technique of rug hooking with yarn.

Jeff Young: Medallion Workshop (Accessible to francophone participants)
The participants will create an Indigenous medallion using elements from nature, such as birch bark, sweetgrass, sinew, porcupine quills, and pig hide. The workshop will take approximately 1.5 hours, which will allow them to complete a medallion to wear or to gift. This workshop will show participants Indigenous skills in crafting.

Jeff Young: Deer Hide Drum Workshop (Accessible to francophone participants)
The participants will create a traditional deer hide drum. They will learn how to soften the hide, stretch it over the frame and secure it to the frame before leaving it to dry. They will leave with a drum that they can use in ceremony or gift to a friend.

Clara Elena Möller Ubando: Pandemic Best Friends
During the pandemic in Canada, animal rescues saw an increase in adoptions whereas shelters in Mexico filled to capacity. This participatory performance unites Corner Brook and Valle de Bravo, Mexico in a live-streamed international dog walk highlighting the paradoxical relationship these two cultures have with “man’s best friend”.

Dan Murphy: A Path to Verse
Poetry of Place
The poetry of place is perhaps the most powerful. Join outdoor educator, author, poet, and walker Dan Murphy to explore “place” through the eyes of poet; through your eyes. An hour and a half walk long trails and city streets with ten stops to inspire. No need to be a poet as we are all poets. Experienced and inexperienced writers welcomed.

Patricia Gora: Let's Bubble Up!
An opportunity to return to pre-pandemic bubbles.
There will be 3 giant bubble making stations set up and 1 "Fubbles" bubble bucket (which is a no-spill bucket of bubbles that young children (3 children at a time) can blow bubbles if the giant bubble wands prove to be too difficult.
Date: Saturday September 25th
Time: 1:30pm-4:30pm
Location: War memorial on the stream trail.
