Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Corner Brook, the mentorship program is open to middle school and high school students. New this year (2021), our Youth Advisory Committee will lead and coordinate the Youth Mentorship Program.

We are very pleased that Cringe Compilation's play « Le Ratio Corner Brook » was selected to
be mentored and shown as our youth mentorship program feature in CB Nuit 2019. Congratulations Tara and her acting company "Cringe Compilation" from Corner Brook Regional High! The play was very well received as part of an exchange in Quebec City.

The CB Nuit mentorship program is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Corner Brook and encourages young artists from all disciplines to apply with a prepared project. Once selected they are mentored by a member of The Fine Arts Department of Grenfell Campus VA department or Theatre department, depending on the discipline of the project.

 

This year, Cringe Compilation from Corner Brook Regional High will be mentored by Alex Fallis of The Grenfell Campus Theatre Department. He will impart his expertise with acting and blocking recommendations/notes in 3 sessions culminating in a staging session/rehearsal in the chosen venue. Le Ratio Corner Brook will be staged in the Corner Brook Library.

"Last year, I proposed a talent show to the French students here at CBRH.  The reward was a chance to travel to Gatineau, QC to perform in a Quebec-wide showcase of talent run by the organisation Secondaire en Spectacle. Tara Young and her troupe surpassed all expectations with their play and I am so glad that more people will have the chance to see it during CB Nuit."

Nous sommes très heureux que la pièce de théâtre  Le Ratio Corner Brook de Tara Young ait été choisie pour être encadrée et présentée dans le cadre de notre programme de mentorat pour les jeunes à CB Nuit cette année. Félicitations à Tara et à sa compagnie de comédiens ! La pièce de Tara a été très bien accueillie dans le cadre d'un échange à Québec au cours de la dernière année scolaire. Le programme de mentorat CB Nuit est parrainé par le Rotary club de Corner Brook et encourage les jeunes artistes de toutes les disciplines à s'inscrire à une action préparée. Une fois sélectionnés, ils sont encadrés par un membre du département des Beaux-Arts du département VA ou du département Théâtre du campus Grenfell, selon la discipline du projet. Cette année, Tara et ses collègues comédiens seront encadrés par Alex Fallis du département de théâtre du campus Grenfell. Il transmettra son expertise et donne les recommandations/notes en 3 sessions qui culmineront en une session de mise en scène/répétition dans le lieu choisi. Le Ratio Corner Brook sera présenté à la bibliothèque de Corner Brook.

"L'année dernière, j'ai proposé un spectacle francophone aux élèves qui s'intéressent au français ici à CBRH.  La récompense était l'opportunité de voyager à Gatineau, QC afin de participer dans une série des spectacles panquébécois présentés par l'organisation Secondaire en Spectacle. Tara Young et sa troupe ont dépassé toutes les attentes avec leur pièce et je suis trop contente que le public aura l'opportunité de la voir lors de CB Nuit."
