Dr. Jamie Skidmore is a professor at Memorial University where he teaches courses in theatre and film production. As a playwright, director, and designer, he has directed and/or designed sets and lighting for theatre, puppetry, and dance in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, British Columbia, Great Britain, and New York State.

An Awesome Mid-Summer Night’s Dream is a marionette play that imagines the Lion, Tin Man, and Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, as the Mechanicals in A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream.
Shadow Puppet Workshop
In this shadow puppet workshop participants will take images from home (“home” in this case being the island of Newfoundland) in order to create characters, scenery, and props. Specifically, we will take inspiration from nature, such as a puddle, a shadow, a tree, a plant, or from a map, and create characters and places for the shadow puppets to exist.
