Elijah Janka Garrard
Elijah Janka Garrard is a multidisciplinary artist, zinester, and storyteller originally from Seattle, now living in St. John’s. Elijah’s work explores narrative and Jewish folklore, world-building, memory, queerness, and relationships to land. A 2012 Fulbright grantee, they hold a BA in Latin American Studies and Film, and AFA in Printmaking.
Amulets invites participants to take a small clay tablet, linking themselves to ancient traditions of protective magic practiced by humans across time. Engage in intention-setting to safeguard a place, person, or emotion that feels like Home, then leave a message for others to reflect on.
